Inauguration of President Bryan Cain, Ph.D. & Inaugural Dinner
September 2026
The inauguration of Endicott College's President Bryan Cain, Ph.D., was a historic milestone for the institution and one of the most logistically complex events I have had the opportunity to lead. From the formal inauguration ceremony to the elegant inaugural dinner that followed, every element required extensive planning, collaboration, and attention to detail to create a memorable celebration for the College community and distinguished guests.
Originally planned as an outdoor ceremony, unpredictable weather required us to pivot to an indoor venue, bringing an entirely new set of logistical challenges. This transition involved coordinating multiple departments and external partners, reworking event layouts, adjusting production and audiovisual requirements, managing guest communications, and ensuring that every ceremonial detail remained intact. With numerous moving pieces and a firm event timeline, the ability to adapt quickly, make informed decisions, and maintain clear communication was essential.
Simultaneously, I oversaw the planning and execution of the inaugural dinner, an elevated celebration designed to honor the occasion and welcome the College's next chapter of leadership. From venue design and catering coordination to guest experience, service logistics, and event flow, the dinner required its own detailed planning and execution while remaining connected to the larger inauguration celebration.
Despite the challenges presented by the weather and the complexity of coordinating multiple events, the inauguration and dinner came together as a cohesive and meaningful celebration. This experience exemplified the importance of thoughtful contingency planning, strong leadership, and the ability to remain composed and solution-oriented when even the most carefully developed plans need to change.
