Homecoming & Reunion Weekend is one of Endicott College's largest and most anticipated annual celebrations, bringing together alumni, students, families, and friends for a weekend filled with tradition, school spirit, and community. As Director of Special Events, I oversee the extensive planning, coordination, and execution of this signature weekend, managing everything from large-scale event operations and transportation to vendor partnerships, staffing, guest experience, and campus-wide logistics.

The 2026 celebration presented an extraordinary challenge as a powerful nor'easter brought relentless rain and unfavorable conditions throughout the weekend. With months of planning, numerous outdoor events, and thousands of anticipated guests, our team was faced with the complex task of adapting an entire weekend of programming while maintaining the energy and excitement that make Homecoming so special.

Through extensive contingency planning, quick decision-making, and constant communication across campus departments and external partners, we successfully navigated venue adjustments, transportation operations, event relocations, and changing logistical demands. From athletic celebrations and alumni gatherings to Fan Fest and the traditional Lobster Bake, every adjustment required careful coordination to ensure a safe, enjoyable, and seamless experience for our guests.

Despite the nor'easter, more than 5,000 attendees joined us throughout the weekend, demonstrating the strength of the Endicott community and the dedication of the teams working behind the scenes to bring this celebration to life.

Homecoming & Reunion Weekend 2026 was a true testament to adaptability, teamwork, and leadership under pressure. While we cannot control the weather, we can control how we respond to it. Through preparation, collaboration, and determination, we transformed a challenging weekend into a successful celebration that proved even a nor'easter couldn't stop Endicott's Homecoming traditions.
